History of the Organization:
MANOSIKA is a national level NGO. It was established in 1st February, 1995 with the initiation of a group of educated minded social workers with an aim to promoting the socio-economic and cultural status of the rural poor, ultra poor and disabled people emphasizing the women and children though concretization, Capacity building, institution building, capital formation, and imparting fell-need based problem solving programs by adopting modem scientific methodology. It believes in non-directive bottom up participatory and integrated development framework and acts as a catalyst with beneficiaries. It is formed as local level community based non Government, non Political and voluntary organization. MANOSIKA is committed to ensures rights and leadership works for disabled children and women’s in the community, socio economics development of the under privileged people and control of environment.

A Just Society where children, women, disabled, mentally disordered persons & poor people of the community can enjoy equal rights, opportunities and justice.
Mission:
Socio-economic development of the vulnerable poor, women, disabled and children-incorporating education, human rights, health, livelihood, water and sanitation, agricultural development, sustainable development, income generation on safety net programs & clean environment development initiatives.
Aim:
Enhance capacity building of the poor, disabled, women and children by adopting sustainable environment friendly approach.

Mutual respects, commitment with legitimate cooperation and coordination for ensuring transparency and accountability to the authorities.
Objectives:
⦁ To educate target groups (Child, Normal & Disabled) through formulation and activism of demand driven approach of education.
⦁ Enhance income generation of the target groups to meet up fundamental rights.
⦁ Access to health services of all people concerned.
⦁ To establish justice and be able to remove crime tendency.
⦁ Ensure socioeconomic rights of the poor, disabled and children.
⦁ Rehabilitate the poor, disabled and children in the main stream of life.
⦁ Restrict child labour and human trafficking in the community.
⦁ Control of environment through social forestry activities.
⦁ Resource Mobilization
⦁ Agriculture development through modern technique.
Development approach:
MANOSIKA believes in process oriented development approach rather than that of task oriented for making the program people oriented and leads towards sustainability. During program implementation the organization stresses a non-directive, bottom-up and people’s participatory development approach and working strategy are adopted for making the program socially accepted and people oriented.
Implementation strategy:
Group formation popularly known is the primary stage in the intervention strategy through selection of village, identification of group members, recruits eligible members. In this direction the strategy is to make the target beneficiaries aware of their social realities that have leaded them to exploitation, deprivation and degradation. Group leaders are trained in group administration, income generating, health, literacy, legal aid etc. The members will have access to basic services. Group members are encouraged to practice democratic norms. Then the members get the facilities of the project based programs concerned. Our target will be disabled and the poor people of landless, marginal farmers, poor women and other professional groups of the area concerned.
Governance:
MANOSIKA adopts decentralized participatory management system in program implementation. The General council, supreme authority consists of 21 members. A seven-member Executive committee is elected biennially out of General council for policy making and providing project guideline for implementation. All the policies of Executive committee are implemented by modest staff headed by the Executive Director responsible for overall program implementation and management.
